With consistent care and support for you and your birth partner, it is our intention to reduce interventions by providing support, and evidence-based research throughout your journey, on your terms!
Offering an empathetic, compassionate approach, as you flow from pregnancy and childbirth into parenthood and the fourth trimester, aka the postpartum period (https://postpartum.org/services/support-groups/) We will provide continued support as you establish breastfeeding, and learn to care for your little one.
Sometimes Pregnancy and Childbirth outcomes are not always what we’d hoped or dreamed they’d be. LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
We reside on the original territory of the Ininew (Cree), Anishinaabe (Ojibway), Oji-Cree, Dene, and Dakota peoples. First Nations guided our ancestors through harsh winters, taught them how to navigate the land, shared with our ancestors their experience and knowledge. We acknowledge Indigenous Peoples who came before us, and who are still here, and who’s way of living and being on the land inspires and informs our work and play. We are committed to answering calls to action number three, number six, number fourteen, number sixty-two, and number sixty-four. As outlined in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Ninety-Four Calls to Action.
Win-nipi Manito-Bau is located on Treaty 1 territory, and homeland to the Red River Metis. I honor the four directions, North, South, East, and West, and am grateful for my Helping Spirits.
I hold a deep appreciation for Water and Mother Earth, Sun, and Moon. I am forever grateful for my two-legged and four-legged friends. The finned, feathered, and crawlers.
I believe that land governance in Canada must change, restore decision-making power to Indigenous Peoples, and recognize indigenous rights and responsibilities, in order to restore our ecosystems.
