SURVIVE. I Woke Before I Broke

The cyclical journey between dark and light is one Survivors know well. SURVIVE examines this journey, the fight for one’s life with a focus on internal healing, unlearning damaging patterns, practising self-compassion, and transcending trauma. The author writes from her own experience as a young woman surviving sexual abuse, neglect, addiction, and self-harm. Through a cycle of coping and regression comes emergence, growth mindset and healing. SURVIVE explores internal dialogue and internal healing, as survivors of abuse learn to cope, love, trust, rest, rebirth and thrive. There is a beautiful resonance in the healing process. Each time the darkness comes, the emergent light returns brighter than before, the unlearning and learning is a deepening process.
